We welcome you to join us for this annual event to honor Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei, founder of Aikido. Both of our special guest Senseis studied directly with the founder in Tokyo.  They will bring O-Sensei close to us, by sharing their personal memories of him and his teachings.

Robert Frager Shihan is 7th dan, founder of Sofia University, a professor, author, spiritual teacher, and president of the Western Aikido Association.  Mariye Takahashi Sensei started her Aikido training in 1960 at Hombu Dojo.  She studied closely with O-Sensei and attended him personally for some years, before moving to southern California, where she continued her training and teaching of Aikido.  This is a rare opportunity to hear Mariye Sensei's knowledge of O-Sensei, both on and off the mat.

In addition to these two special talks, there will be short sessions offered by various other Senseis, including Kayla Feder (7th dan, Aikido of Berkeley), Tesfaye Tekelu (3rd dan, Aikido Ethiopia + Oakland CA), Nico Secunda (3rd dan, Aikido of Santa Cruz), and Linda Holiday, host (7th dan, Aikido of Santa Cruz).  You will have time to move, breathe, and share your thoughts with other members of the Aikido global community, as we respond to the question, "If O-Sensei were here with us now, what would his message be?"
